To commemorate the contribution of Sh. Ramanujan; We at STME, SVKM's NMIMS, Chandigarh have celebrated Mathematics Day on 22nd December, 2023. In view of foregoing, Dr. Arun Kumar, Associate Professor, Dean Student Affairs and Head at the Centre of Applied Research in Data Science, IIT Ropar; being a distinguished mathematician delivered an expert talk on the topic: Parameter Estimation Techniques in Data Science: An Overview for the students, faculty and staff members. He briefly explained the techniques to determine the optimal values for parameters in statistical models, optimise the model's fit to observed data, and enhance predictive accuracy.
